A PhD position is available in the Laboratory of Catalysis and Solid-State Chemistry (Lille, France) in the area of carbon dioxide hydrogenation to chemicals with enhanced carbon, hydrogen and energy efficiency. The PHD research will be conducted as a part of H2020 European project in collaboration with several European universities and industrial partners.
Requirements
The applicant must have a Master degree in the field of material science or chemical engineering. The candidate is a highly motivated, enthusiastic researcher and has a strong interest in heterogeneous catalysis. Fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory. Knowledge of French is not required for this position. The successful candidate should be able to work independently and cooperate with other researchers in an interdisciplinary group.
Conditions of employment
The candidate is offered a full-time position for 3 years (2135 euros/month gross salary). The Ph.D. contract may take effect starting from November 2020.

The Catalysis and Solid Chemistry Unit (UCCS, UMR 8181 CNRS, uccs.univ-lille1.fr) consists of 105 researchers and research professors, 32 technical and administrative staff, and an average of 80 PhD students and 20 post-doctoral researchers. The scientific activities of the UCCS are relevant to three fields: heterogeneous catalysis and catalysis and molecular chemistry, solid chemistry. Within the “Heterogeneous Catalysis Division” and “Catalysis for Energy and Synthesis of Platform Molecules ” group (www.suscat.org), the researcher will work under the joint responsibility of Dr Andrei Khodakov and Dr Vitaly Ordomsky.
